I did not know Deputy Matthews, but a very close friend of mine did. She had only wonderfull things to say about him. She told me, he was the type of person that would go out of his way to help somebody, be it walk them accross the street or even mow their yard for them. I'm glad that Deputy Matthews touched her life and many others the way that he did. I wish I had the oppurtunity to have met him.
Your watch is done, be with god...your fellow brothers will take over and protect the ones you love.

Words of a Fallen Hero:

Don't greive for me, for now I am free.
I am following the path God laid out for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call,I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with time of sorrow, I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life has been full, I savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lenghten it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.....

God be with you and your family
