Yet another senseless tragedy strikes out tight knit area. My thoughts and prayers are with Trooper Miller's family, his colleagues, and his soul.

He should be remembered as a warrior who stood on the front line Sunday night to fight this never ending war against crime and selfish criminals. His watch may be over, but may his memory live on forever.

"The Final Inspection"

The policeman stood and faced his God
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"

The policeman spoke with shoulders squared,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was rough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills just got too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I probably don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't...I'll understand."

There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgement of his God.

"Step forward no, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

To the family of Josh,

I am also a wife of a PA State Trooper. I found out shortly after the incident happened. I could not even sleep because my heart was so heavy with pain for Josh's wife, children, and extended family. My husband went through the State Police academy with Josh. The first thing he told me about Josh is what a great guy he was and trooper. I am sure this is not the first and it won't be the last that you hear amazing words like this about Josh. I do not even know you and wish that I could be there for you in someway. Know that he loved you so deeply. I want to thank Josh for protecting the little boy and saving the little boys life. He is a hero to all of us. I will be thinking of you and praying for you and the kids that some how God will get you through this tough time. May God keep you and protect you through this time.

Sincerely,
Vanessa

"Final Call"

An Angel In The Sky Must Leave His Place Of Rest,
Gently Tucking His Wings Beneath His Armored Vest.
For Duty Has Called, There Is Much Work To Do
Little Did He Know, This One Is Dressed In Blue.

Arriving On The Scene, He Knows Just What To Say,
"Follow Me, Fallen Brother, I'll Show You The Way."
"Your Duty Has Ended, Your Work Is Now Through."
"Come Hang Your Hat Beside Mine, I'm A Cop, Too."

May you rest in Peace My brother, you will always be remembered.

To the family and collegues of Tpr Miller. Our deepest condolences on this senseless loss. We were just in PA to recognize the fine work you all had done on the capture of 2 cop killers from NY. I hope that through the strength of the bond we all share in this brotherhood you can stay strong which is what Tpr Miller would have wanted. God rest his soul and God grant you all the strength.
