Chad,
My only contact with you was when we were both at the academy. I must tell you though I looked up to you as a police officer. You rocked man you knew how to teach the topics that you did which means you must have rolled as an officer on the street. Unfortuanatly all to often in this line of work it does not matter how much you do it right, something could happen. God must have chosen you to make the ultimate sacrafice as yet another learning tool to show us still doing the job what to do, and how to do it.
Your job is done...it is now time to rest...everyone wearing the badge will keep doing the job that you have taught some in some of us and we will keep fighting the fight for you.
We will miss you man.

I thank you for your time and service to our community of Greene County, VA.
In your honor I post this poem:
My Father’s Badge
In boyhood days I used to feel,
That gold and silver shield,
And heavy it felt in my little hand,
That was my Father’s badge.
The teenage years were wild times,
Running forward though half blind,
Always he was there to guide my path,
That was my Father’s badge.
As a man, I stood at his side,
He would teach and sometimes chide,
Duty, Honor and more he had,
That was my Father’s badge.
Along his graveside I did kneel,
Through the air, solemn Taps did peal,
“And I’ll cherish your symbol of service , Dad”
That was my Father’s badge.
Perhaps someday if I have a son,
And if he’s asked what his father had done,
He’ll say with prideful eyes so glad,
That was my Father’s badge.

No words can ever explain how I fill about losing you Chad. I remember all the good times we had and all of the jokes that we played on each when we had a few extra moments. I know that you gave us 100% effort in everything you done and loved being assigned to the Task Force.
My heart and prayers go out to all of the family and friends.
I know you will watch over us and sometime we will meet again to continue our journey high on that mountain.
Rest in Peace Brother and Love You
