To Omar and Family,
I remember landing at JFK the morning after this tragic incident and driving passed the house you lived in, with your wife and two young children. I remember asking my sister what happened and she explaining the circumstances; my interest peaked because the house we lived in is right around the corner and so I made it my priority to return and pay my respects. At the time, I was a Marshal here in Las Vegas, NV.

I often think of how the family is doing after over five years and knowing that your wife will tell your young ones how great of a police officer you were. I know she'll also share how great a husband and father he was too.

For now, after all this time, I want to share with them my deepest condolences and may they be comforted by our God.

I still remember the first day you walked into the command. Proud and personable and of course a little nervous. You quickly became a great cop, a cops cop. I still see your smile as you walked the beat helping the public and other officers through their tough day. We miss you brother and you will never be forgotten.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. May you rest in peace and may the lord give peace and strength to your family and to your associates in the law enforcement community.

It's almost four years since your demise and it's seems like it was yesterday. Every time I look at your picture I remember the childhood memories we shared together. The last time we really hung out was in the hospital at Grandma's bedside cracking jokes because that's the kind of person you were, always looked for the good in every situation. You have impacted so many lives during and after your time here with us. Your legacy lives on in your boys.

Rest In Peace

Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for the solace of all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. Thanks to your friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.

Rest In Peace.
