Reflections for Sheriff Anderson Lewis
The details of this killing can be read in my recent book WYATT EARP IN YAMANASHI in a chapter called "George Walker Pound." Lewis was killed by two brothers named Henry and Bob Thompson. The details are drawn from the 1937 WPA series called "Oklahoma and Indian Territory, Indian and Pioneer Historical Collection." The book is available on Amazon.
Best regards,

Anderson Lewis was an uncle to my father, Robert A. Lewis. My grandfather was Sullivan Lewis, brother to Anderson. According to ancestry reports, Anderson was killed by a man whose name was Rob Thompson. After Anderson's death, his brother Frank finished his term of office. His daughters were raised by another brother, Loren.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 104th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. You died serving Pittsburg County in Oklahoma. Your memory is honored and revered.
