I am deeply saddened by the news that another one of my brothers has lost his life in the line of duty. I never knew you personally Detective Pearson, but yet we were family. The pain and numbness that I feel at this moment only pales in comparison to the pain that I know your family is feeling at this time. I pray that God will give your family the peace that they need to make it through during this painful time.
Blessed are the peacemakers: For they shall be called the children of god. Matthew5:9

To Detective Allen Pearson, to all family members and friends who call him beloved, and to his law enforcement family:
I was so sorry to learn of Allen's death and extend my sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you have suffered. Words are insufficient to describe the sadness I feel for the Pearson family. May you find comfort in your faith and the support of the law enforcement community.
There are many police survivors who share this same journey with you, and that community will be there to support you. Allen's memory will be forever honored and revered.
Allen, thank you for your service to my home state and the birthplace of my cherished son Larry Lasater who was also fatally shot in the line of duty while serving with the Pittsburg, CA Police Department. May you rest in peace.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Allen gave to his community and the citizens of North Carolina and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on April 7, 2009.
