Officer Kelly's Family
You are in my prayers and Eric was taken to early and should of have had more time with you guys. I know words at this time will never stop the hurt, since my family has felt the lost with the death of my future son in-law Josh Norris. He also was responding to a domestic disturbance and those in the house did not give warning that an individual was armed before arriving. Your Husband and Dad is not far from you, he is the whisper in the wind, that feeling of being hugged when no one is there, he will always be at your side watching over ever accomplishment and catching ever tear that you guys shed. What has helped my family and may help yours, remember your love ones laugh, his smile and all those things that are unique to him, since they are truly what made him. He is a true hero in every sense of the word, when other run from the sound of gun fire, all he heard was the call for help. Your police family extends it arms to you, if this one from Louisiana can do anything do not hesitate to ask. God bless you and he will give you strength.

God bless your family in these terrible trying times.
To your family:
You have died gloriously on the field of battle. I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the public they died to save.
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Officer Eric Kelly better known by those on his personal level as "Guy", was a great Friend, High School Teammate, Family man and Father. I've known Guy since the 3rd grade, while growing up in Westgate Village and Guy growning up in Broadhead, we first met while playing Elementary School sports. Yes he was my competition. Nevertheless, I could not ignore the facts of his tremendous talents, we later became friends and have been friends ever since. We attended Greenway Middle School as well as Langley High School and ultimately Graduating together in 1985. Yes its been some years that we've had together. My condolences to the Kelly Family as well as all other lives that "Guy" has touched. We were all truly blessed by the presence of Guy. Guy was an individual that you could always count on no matter what the circumstances. I will miss you Guy, you will always have a valued place in my heart, mind and soul.
Much Love,

So very tragic! Eric is now an Angel looking down upon you! REST IN PEACE, your sacrifice will never be forgotten!
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

This is a very brave man. I hope that the citizens in the community which he served truly appreciate his commitment and sacrifice to their safety. May the ruthless criminal responsible for these murders be brought to justice and sentenced to the most severe penalty.
