Reflections for Police Officer John Raymond Hege
I'd like to send my condolences to the Oakland Police department and especially Officer Hege's family. I know what it is like to lose a loved one in the line of duty and this is unbearable. God Bless Officer Hege for protecting us and ultimately giving his life. All that serve and give the ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten and forever remembered as heroes. May God watch over and protect all who serve.

To the Oakland Police Department,
My heart breaks at your loss of the four fine officers this past weekend. There is no sense in this loss and no amount of words can express my deepest sorrow for your losses. May God watch over your department, and prayers go to those families that lost their loved ones...
Be safe, and know your department is cared for, thought of, and prayed for...
Blessings to all of your department officers for the fine job they all do, day in and day out...
These four officers will not be forgotten...

So sad when I recognized it was you, John. Those of us who knew you as an "Orme Warrior" couldn't be more proud to have known such a man.
What a tremendous debt of gratitude we owe to the men and women of law enforcement for the bravery they show in protecting us all. My sincere thanks to each and every one of you.
