My heart goes out to the family of the fallen officers. May God be with them and fellow officers in this hard time. Thank you for your service you will never be forgotten.

This is my shield
I bear it before me into battle
But it is not mine alone
It protects my brother to my left; it protects my city
I shall never let me brother out of his shadow nor my city out of its shelter
If I die my shield shall lay before me; facing the enemy!

What do you say when 4 brave men go to work and do their jobs trying to protect those that cannot protect themselves? What do you say to 4 men that gave their lives to the citizens of Oakland by doing their jobs and getting involved in trying to help people? What do you say, at this point im at a loss! Saying thank you, calling them heroes, that is not enough! Words cannot describe this type of loss, even one loss of life is not acceptable. These men went to work and will never come home to their loved ones. To go out into the world knowing that you may not come home when you are doing a job shows what type of people do this job. The level of commitment and professionalism these men showed to the world will remain in my heart for a very long time. To your friends, family, and co-workers, I am so sorry for your loss. All 4 men gave their lives doing what they loved to do. This is a time for the citizens of Oakland to stop the violence and stand up for a better city, better community and a better nation! Work with the police to better your community! To all of the officers, rest in peace and I hope your final resting place brings you joy and peace where ever you are. To your family, friends and co-workers, the loss that you are going through right now is horrible and unthinkable. I only hope that people around you can comfort you and help you through this hard time and tragedy. My thoughts are with everyone involved.
