Rest in peace brother and my prayer are with your family.

To Sgt Sakai family and the other officer which made the ultimate sacrifices. All of you are in my families prayers during this dark time. My family knows the hurt all to well with the death of my future son in-law Josh Norris in 2007. Your love ones were taken to early and should of had more time with you guys and I know words at this time will never stop the hurt, but know your Husbands and Dads are not far from you. They are the whisper in the wind you hear, that feeling of being hugged when no one is there, they will always be at your side watching over ever accomplishment and catching ever tear that you guys shed. What has helped my family and may help yours, remember your love ones laugh, their smile and all those things that are unique to them, since they are truly what made them. Your police family extends it arms to you, if this one from Louisiana can do anything do not hesitate to ask. God bless you and he will give you strength.
To my Sister and Brothers of Oakland PD
This lost will always be felt at roll call, on the road or just talking at a break. For those that were on the scene, do not start second guessing your action, understand that nothing you did or things you felt you should have done was the cause of lose of a life, the fault is with the one that committed the act.. Like all of us that wear a badge, we do not do it for the fortune we will never make, the glory that never comes, but go forward regardless of the risk for the love of fellow brothers and sisters that work beside us. Mourn your brothers, but also dedicate your service in their name by being the best you possible can. Your Department are in my families prayers also. Hug your family and kiss their heads since they will need that to help calm their fears.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office

Lord, help me to serve and protect,
and uphold the laws of the land.
Help me to keep the peace
with courage and dignity.
And to use sound judgment
in all situations.
If force should become necessary,
may it be in good conscience.
Let me never forget the humanity
in all people.
When earthly justice sometimes fails,
I know heavenly justice will prevail.
Watch over my partner and me
as we work for the community's safety.
Be my companion on my daily bear
and the long night watches.
Put my loved ones' worries to rest
as You guide and protect me.
May I honor my uniform by serving
the community with courtesy and integrity.
