I have been an officer for 2 years and two months and 3 days. I know that you went to those in need and you did your best. I can not even express how wonderful a person he must of been. To come to those under fire is one of the bravest things that can be done. This man along with his brothers is a hero, not just to your local community to the nation and the world. He did his job and he did it right, I wish to God none of us had to die to protect those we love and those who need our help in times of distress, but that is what we do. And that is what makes us who we are. i pray your family finds peace in the coming years

Sergeant Romans: I attended the Oakland service for you and your partners as I have for many other officers who have fallen in the line of duty. I do ridealongs, and therefore have gotten to know many officers personally. I pray for you and all fallen officers every day that you may continue to ride on God's beat in Heaven. You are all heroes, and may God bless you all. Sincerely, Barbara Price

Deeply sorrowful, I leave a reflection about another brave soldier killed by a cowardly enemy. I hope the community will show appreciation for the sacrifice Officer Romans has made, and outrage for this violent attack. My deepest sympathies and prayers to the family, friends and brother/sister officers of you and Officers Dunakin, Hege and Sakai. Officer Romans, may the memory of your heroism, service and sacrifice remain forever. May God bless you and your family. AC

"Never forget what they did here. It is rather for us, the living, to be dedicated here to the great task remaining before us - that, from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they here, gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain."
