Please know most people are incredibly grateful for the job you do even though we don’t say it often. May your families, find some sort of peace in knowing that you are heroes. A hero is a person who does not put themselves first but rather one who looks to protect others and that is exactly what you all have done. I am profoundly sorry for your loss. You will never be forgotten, rest in peace, you certainly deserve it.

To the Family of Sergeant Dunakin,

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I cannot imagine the pain you must be suffering at this time, but please know that my thoughts and my prayers are with you. Dear Sergeant Mark Dunakin... I am so sorry this had to happen to you!!! You didnt deserve this at all!! This is just not fair-- My husband, Bradley Moody, was a Richmond Police Officer and he was killed in the line of duty back in October of 2008. It's been almost six months since he has been gone... and it still hurts like the first day!!! Please give him a hug when you see him--Tell him I miss him!!! I know that you, along with all of the other fallen officers are going to be watching down on us now... please keep us all safe in this crazy world!!!

To Sergeant Mark Dunakin's family...I am so sorry!!! I know what your all going through right now, and I wish that I could take away all of your pain... I am soooooo sorry you have to go through this!!! Just know that you have so many people supporting you! Lean on people for support...

To the family at the Oakland Police Department... I am so very sorry for your loss. I felt horrible for the Richmond police department when we lost Bradley...but I can't imagine what you guys are going through loosing four of your brothers. My heart goes out to you all. Yesterday was truly a very sad day!!!!
