I know we were all shock and stricken by Saturday's tragic event at our dispatch center. I know that are few little which can be said to ease your suffering. Perhaps what I can so is what I do best. I make tribute memorial videos as a way of easy the pain of such loss and I would be honored to prepare one for all the fallen officers and make it available for use at any services at no charge. Just please get the photos to me as soon a possible as these special videos do take time to make.

Dear Sergeant Mark Dunakin,
You gave your life in the line of duty ~ you are forever an American Hero. God Bless you and keep you in his loving care. Be on the lookout for my nephew Christopher, I am sure he will welcome you to his squad with a big bear hug.

To Sergeant Dunakin’s wife, children, family, friends, and co-workers at the Oakland Police Department. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I also know your pain and my heart aches for you.

This poem was left on my nephew's reflection page, it touched my heart, and so I pass it along.

I'M THERE INSIDE YOUR HEART

Right now I'm in a different place,
And though we seem apart,
I'm closer than I ever was...
I'm there inside your heart.

I'm with you when you greet each day
And while the sun shines bright,
I'm there to share the sunsets, too...
I'm with you every night.

I'm with you when the times are good
To share a laugh or two,
And if a tear should start to fall...
I'll still be there for you.

And when that day arrives
That we no longer are apart,
I'll smile and hold you close to me...
Forever in my heart.

I sit here in stunned disbelief at a horrific event that has so far claimed the lives of three heroes. We are, once again, reminded that there is no such thing as a "routine" traffic stop. My sincerest condolences to both the professional and personal families of Officer Dunakin. His time on this earth will not be forgotten

What do you say when 4 brave men go to work and do their jobs trying to protect those that cannot protect themselves? What do you say to 4 men that gave their lives to the citizens of Oakland by doing their jobs and getting involved in trying to help people? What do you say, at this point im at a loss! Saying thank you, calling them heroes, that is not enough! Words cannot describe this type of loss, even one loss of life is not acceptable. These men went to work and will never come home to their loved ones. To go out into the world knowing that you may not come home when you are doing a job shows what type of people do this job. The level of commitment and professionalism these men showed to the world will remain in my heart for a very long time. To your friends, family, and co-workers, I am so sorry for your loss. All 4 men gave their lives doing what they loved to do. This is a time for the citizens of Oakland to stop the violence and stand up for a better city, better community and a better nation! Work with the police to better your community! To all of the officers, rest in peace and I hope your final resting place brings you joy and peace where ever you are. To your family, friends and co-workers, the loss that you are going through right now is horrible and unthinkable. I only hope that people around you can comfort you and help you through this hard time and tragedy. My thoughts are with everyone involved.
