I love and miss you so much dad, I wish I could've gotten to know you, I've heard so many great things about you and from what I could remember you were always good to mom and good to me and you tried your best and succeeded at making us happy, I wish you were here with me and mom. I miss you so much words cannot describe. I love you dad.

I have not left any thoughts/feelings/praises here & actually, this is the 1st time I've been on this page. I don't know why I'm here or what to write, but there must be a reason I've started this reflection. A compassionate, respectful, loving, wonderful man - son, husband, father, friend - was horrifically ripped from this Earth & my world has not been, nor never will be the same. Never. Adam left behind a legacy, no, make that legacies, including his beautiful son, little wife, kind & generous family, loyal co-workers, & caring friends. Adam lives on in everyone whose lives he touched. Sometimes the idea that I'm a part of his legacy gives me the strength & hope that one day I'll be nearly whole again.
Recently, I had the opportunity to meet the legacies (survivors) of fallen officers from across the U.S. I was both saddened by the stories of lives abruptly ended & encouraged by the families that selflessly help others & try to make the world a better place (whether they realize it or not). And thank you to the law enforcement community as a whole for the sacrifices you make & a big shout out to the agencies that assist survivors & give their time to kids who've lost a parent.
Upon reading this, I've doubts about posting it. Maybe nobody will read it? Oh well, it's been therapeutic for me. Adam, you will forever be missed. I sincerely hope that one day I can be half the person you were.
