Mr. Nelson
While doing research on Town Marshal Charles Lewis, I learned that you were another fallen hero from Powell. I found one of your relatives in town who gave me a newspaper article which gave me the circumstances of your death which I submitted to ODMP.
Your cousin told me of the many fine qualities you had as a person and a police officer.
Thank you for your service to the residents of Powell and the Powell Police Department.

Chief Nelson,
It has taken over 58 years, but you are finally being honored. I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your community but also for our Country when you served during WW I. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 59th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.
