Deputy Sheriff Wright,
It has taken over 109 years, but you are finally being honored. I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Letcher County. You are a true hero-you protected the weak from cowardous punks who didn't have the guts to face you in a fair fight but ambushed and killed you.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 109th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
