Rich it seems like yesterday when we were walking our foot post together in East NY...remeber hiding out in the Euclid Ave subway station just trying to stay warm and dry...or Penn and Livonia...I remember New Years 2005 doing OT and taking the stabbing job at the Elite Arc, I think we pissed off the Midnight sector getting there before they did..oh well...Guess what, I jumped ship too and moved to Raleigh and work here now...It sucks, everytime I go to the beach I think of you. I hope its cool up there in Heaven..We all miss you man.

Hey Rich, Thinking about you. Kevin had these calendars made for the PUT and your picture is there from when you rode with us in Wilmington. I know all your friends miss you. I hope you continue to keep an eye on your coworkers, especially Stafford. I wish we did not have to honor you in May, but we will. God Bless You.

Dear Family, Coworkers and Friends of Officer Richard Matthews:
I am riding in the FLETC bike ride and Police Unity Tour ride May 1-12 this year in honor and memory of Officer Matthews. I met Richard on the bike during the FLETC ride last year in Wilmington. You couldn't miss his bright yellow jersey and big smile as we rode through Wilmington. He will be with us in spirit this year. "We Ride For Those Who Died"
