I can remember the first day I meet Josh and his brother's when they join the Evangel Family Christian Acadmey Homeschooled Soccer Team. I can remember Josh always trying to beat his oldest brother in everything on the field. He was a fine young man. Not only was his soccer coach, I also had a background in Law Enforcement with the USAF and now I must say good bye to a bother in arms and a former player. God bless and my you rest in peace.

Officer Broadway
Rest in Peace Brother and tell my Son-in law Josh Norris EOW 07/05/2007 hello and have him show you around. When I look at your picture I see our Josh and my heart breaks. My prayers are with your family during this dark time, but you will have your day, a day that you richly deserve, too many police cars to count, with lights blazing and sirens screaming escorting you. Hundreds of your brothers will stand at attention saluting you and the citizens of your community will shed tears. A 21 gun salute will sound out in respect for you and heart numbing Taps" will be played for you while your family receives a flag. There will not be a dry eye left from both your family and police family near and far. Saint Michael the chief of police in heaven will greet you at the pearly gates and welcome you to Saint Peter's district. You will never be forgotten and your strength and courage will live on to inspire every new deputy that takes up the call of the profession and your sacrifies will be remmebered through out the nation with every police officer. You got the call, you gave your all, and it was more than enough. So prop your feet up and take a load off up there and keep an ear to the radio so that when another of our brother's number is called you can meet them at the gate with a cup of coffee and a smile. Oh and put in a good word for me up there, I like the day watch and make sure my boy Josh is not sleeping the time way.

To the Family of Cpl Brooks
Your complete family are in my families prayers during this dark time. Your Josh was taken to early and should of have had more time with you guys. I know words at this time will never stop the hurt, but know he is not far from you, he is the whisper in the wind, that feeling of being hugged when no one is there, he will always be at your side watching over ever accomplishment and catching ever tear that you guys shed. What has helped my family and may help yours, remember your love ones laugh, his smile and all those things that are unique to him, since they are truly what made him. Your police family extends it arms to you, if this one from Louisiana can do anything do not hesitate to ask. God bless you and may he give you strength.

To Officer Broadway's Fiancée, my heart is with you, since having seen the pain my daughter has and is still going through, since her and Josh had gotten engaged on July 4th and he was taken from us on Jul 5th. As I told her, there is no doubt of his love for you since he asked you out of some may others he could have shared his life, but you are still with us and God will send love your way again. Do not dwell on what could have been, but remember the time that you had with him, you will never forget him and that is ok, he was your love. But as you heal and remember him, smile that smile that he loved, laugh since I am sure he loved to hear you laugh and live since he would want you to live. The below poem was sent to my daugher when she lost her Josh and as a father my heart breaks for you also, since you lost more than the all of us and as a father you can not take away the hurt.

A LETTER FROM HEAVEN
To my fiance', some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me and he said,'I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.'
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human they are bound to bring tears.
But do not be afraid to cry: it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you would not understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one step at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you to;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low:
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.
I will always be with you!
