Reflections for Police Officer Joshuah Patrick Broadway
Your birthday is tommorow and it will be a hard day for all of us.We miss you so much.I do not take a day for granted any more. I call your brothers everyday just to tell them I love them. I wish I could call you right now. But I know you are watching over us right at this very time. You had such a strong will to be a great police officer and I am proud of you for the short time you had. I am going to remember the great times we had and all the funny things you did, like cheating while we played cards. That always made me laugh. You and your dry humor made me laugh so much. So tommorow, I am going to wish you the best birthday ever because I know God is giving you more than any one could ever give you here on earth. I love you Josh, Happy Birthday.

I stopped by the cemetary the other day and was suprised there wasnt a headstone yet but I believe that your mom has it ordered now. I cant wait to find out what the baby is going to be. I think shell find out in a few days so Ill be calling. Im going to make the trip up north when its born hopefully. You know how they can be with off days around here. Anyways, tomorrow is your 22nd birthday and I will be on the road so I dropped by to say an early happy birhday. Ill drink an extra cold one for you.

DUE TO THE EVENTS IN OAKLAND CA. I DECIDED TO LOOK AT ODMP WHICH I USED TO FREQUENT EARLY IN MY CAREER. BACK THEN I DID IT TO APPRECIATE HOW WE NEED TO CHERISH LIFE AND LOVED ONES AS WE DO NOT KNOW HOW THE DAY WILL END ESPECIALLY IN THIS LINE OF WORK. I DID NOT KNOW OF OFC BROADWAY'S INCIDENT. I WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND MY CONDOLENCE AND PRAYERS TO THE MONTGOMERY POLICE DEPT AND TO OFC BROADWAY'S FAMILY. HE IS IN HEAVEN'S STREETS.

As a former police officer of the MPD and having been there when one of our own fell in the line of duty, I know the pain and sadness that comes along with the lose of one of our brothers.
I didn't have the honor of meeting Officer Broadway and his family but want to pass along my best and thank you for raising a fine young man.

baby mom misses you so much. I think about you every minute of the day. I keep asking God why he took you away from ME. I feel a little comfort knowing you are watching over all of us. And the decisions I have made are just the way you would want it to be. It has been hard but I can handle it. I will always love you my blue eyed angel..

Josh, Every day im at a computer i look at this site, and your myspace page, remembering hanging with you, all those wresling matches in the living room of the apt. me you and jr would get into. I would never admit it but you got me good more than a few times. I still have the scars from the carpet burns we always managed to get, me mostly. And the Halo game i could never beat you at, even when you tried to let me win. And me taking you to get lunch and to work when your truck was wrecked. Shooting guns and raising hell and the normal bs we managed to get into. and sometimes i got you out of. I hate that we didnt get to go on the camping trip that we were planing. It was great that you looked at me like i was your brother. Asking my advise and being the first to know what the problems of the day were. And it never failed, i always heard the same thing every time, "dont tell anybody but". Yeah you knew i was always an ear to listen and try to help the best i could. You taught me alot Josh, about ho much the simple things in life are as important as any. To treat everyone with kindness and be fair. In the time i got to know you, zyou became an inspiration to me, and so many others. I never met a person that didnt like you, well.. I never met anyone you gave a ticket to either. With all that being said BROTHER, you are loved, your still here, your memory will last on the streets of montgomery, in the hearts of its citizens, and in the prayers of this nation. Your family loves you and are very proud of you, we all love you and are very proud of you Josh... ill see you later bro

P/O Broadway, Very young face but more mature then most! As a young man you could have been out enjoying life; but you took up the enormious task of wearing the uniform and the badge. A job not alot of people would do or even want. Your life was ended too soon and we never can understand why this happens, but GOD has his reason's. Maybe he needed you in Heaven, to help watch over someone down here! A very big hole has opened within your family and your agency! A hole that people say heals over time but the pain never goes away. Your short life will never be forgotten and your spirit will only grow and become bigger as more people hear about you! GOD BLESS YOU & THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!! YOU ARE A HERO & A CREDIT TO THE BADGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Josh,
I was on here the other day reading reflections and I came across you. I get on here everyday and read, but when I came across you and I read some of your reflections I started to tear up. Especially when I read the poem that your brother had written. You were so young, but you were brave and not afraid to protect the citizens of Montgomery. In my eyes you area great hero and will never be forgotten. Watch over us as we keep protecting the citizens, and you walk to streets of gold in heaven.

As I read through these reflections I have but only one thought, that you have such a young face! I can tell however that you were a very good Man! I started at 20 yrs old in the academy and earned the nickname "Baby face" it has never left me...even 14 years later. Officer Broadway my respect for you is huge, the fact that at such a young age you began serving a greater cause than yourself is amazing and I compliment your parents. Thank you for serving, and thank you for being an example of a Man of Christ! Rest in peace brother!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!
