Jarod,
I dont think there are enough words to express how much you really meant to me. I love you with all my heart and that will never change. Lets face it, I have loved you from the very first time you kissed me. Through out all of our issues and hard times I have never stopped loving you. You were the kind of person I can only hope to be. Your dedication to your job and the community were unlike any other. Everytime you would come home and tell me about going to the schools and seeing the kids, the smile on your face made me look forward to the day when we would have kids. I want you to know I would have said yes, no questions asked I would have spent the rest of my life with you! You were more than just my boyfriend, you were my best friend. You knew me better then anyone. I will miss all of our long talks before bed, our midnight Ben and Jerry's runs, fighting over what movies to watch, you stealing all the blankets, and all your smart remarks, but more than anything I'm going to miss all your kisses, the way you would look at me and say "I love you" without actually saying a word, and the way you would put your arms around me and hold me when I had a bad day. You touched so many lives during the short time you were here, including mine. Your legacy will continue on and I will do all in my power to make sure your kindness and memory will never die. Please watch over me and my family. Be with us and help us to make the most out of everyday. I will miss you Sweetheart.

With all my Love,

~Always & Forever~

Jarod -
You were such a life force. I still expect you to burst in my office door with your "here I am, let the applause start" attitude. God, I miss that. I always will. I have never met someone so young, yet so old. You knew who you were - you were a police officer - so enthusiastic, full of ideals and ideas. My heart breaks when I think of all the dreams not realized. But you left such a legacy in your short time, Sugar. People remember your kindness, your compassion, and your sweet smile. I will always remember you serving meals to the less fortunate, and shopping for Christmas presents with Kelsey and me for kids that otherwise wouldn't have much Christmas. We were all so looking forward to you being a permanant part of the family. You know you always will be. I told you she would say yes.
Your parents raised a wonderful son and I thank them for sharing you with all of us. I pray God will give them peace knowing you are safe in His arms. I weep for their pain and pledge to them our love and support.
Even knowing what we know, we wouldn't have missed one minute with you to spare ourselves this pain. We will hold you in our hearts forever. Until we see you again, sweet dreams Sugar. We love you.
Love,
Kelly

To all of the officers who put their lives on the line to keep us safe and the families who love and support them -thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for what you do on a daily basis. You have my utmost respect and admiration. Be safe out there.

You will forever be in our hearts. You touched the lives of so many in the short time you were here on earth. We know you are in a better place now but our hearts are still heavy.

We will miss all the sunday dinners, the meetings at the breakfast table, the late night calls and all the good times we had. But most of all we are going to miss you, your smile and your laughter. You became a big part of our family and we will forever cherish those memories. Both Jason and I lost a good friend - Our best friend.

The community of Windham and the Windham Police Department know they lost a good person, friend and officer as well. You were a great officer and loved doing your job. You will always be remembered in this community, always.

Rest in peace my friend. Job well done.

Love Always your friends,

Jason & Chris

Our Son Jarod was a wonderful young man destined to Protect and Serve his fellow man, it was all he thought of since he was a boy from the age of twelve. We remember him reading a book called "To Protect and Serve" over and over again.
We would like to thank the Law Enforcement Community for the wonderful honors they bestowed upon on our Son Jarod and continue to reach out to us on a daily basis. God Bless You All.

To the family and friends of Officer Jarod Dean and the members of the Boston Heights Police Dept.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you have suffered when Officer Dean was tragically killed.

To Jarod's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son Larry was killed, the entire law enforcement community in the Bay Area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

In reading his reflections, I can see that Jarod was an amazing man who will be missed by so many.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Jarod gave to his community and the citizens of Ohio, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on January 19, 2009.
