Reflections for Guard Nolan Buckhanan

Nolan Buckhanan was my Father (DAD). I did not know this existed. He was a great Dad and tried to raise me right. He loved his family and worked very hard to support them. I loved him very much and I am sure he was proud of me. There is so much more to the story, But just let me say he was the one influence in my life. Rest in peace Dad, and you are the reason for the person I turned out to be.

On today, the 50th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army during World War II. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 40th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
