Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Keith Carter
To Jeremy's daughter,
In the future you will get to know who your Father was. You will read of how he was a Hero. You will hear of how much he wanted to be a police officer and how much he loved you and wanted to do what was right for his family and community. Well you Father did just that and more. It does not matter if he wore that badge for one day or twenty-five years,he was still a man of honer,pride and integrity. Most of the people who will leave a reflection here did not know you Father,but they repsect what he did and know the loss that you've had and want to help you to know that your Father touched them,their community in a special way. God bless you and your family Officer Carter.
May you rest in peace,and go in God's arms.

Our sincere condolences and prayers are with the family of Deputy Carter. We lost our son, Officer Christopher Nicholson, last year on the 19th, also. What a terrible tragedy to fall upon your family, as we approach Christmas. May the Good Lord watch over and protect you all. Deputy Carter, thank you for your dedication and service. What a terrible year this has been for the state of Louisiana.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me and he said,'I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.'
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human they are bound to bring tears.
But do not be afraid to cry: it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you would not understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one step at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you to;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low:
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.
I will always be with you!
GOD BLESS YOU ALL

To the Family of Officer Carter
Your complete family are in my families prayers during this dark time. My family is just starting to make it thru a lost of our own with the death of my future son in-law Josh Norris. Jeremy was taken to early and should of had more time with you guys and I know words at this time will never stop the hurt, but know your Son, Brother Husband and Dad is not far from you. He is the whisper in the wind, that feeling of being hugged when no one is there, he will always be at your side watching over ever accomplishment and catching ever tear that you guys shed. What has helped my family and may help yours, remember your love ones laugh, his smile and all those things that are unique to him, since they are truly what made him. Your police family extends it arms to you, if this one from Louisiana can do anything do not hesitate to ask. God bless you and may he give you strength.
