Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
God Bless

I think this Ranger was related to my family in the United Kingdom. As I am part owner of the Luckenbach township near Fredericksburg in Gillespie County, Texas, it seems that now a full circle has now been completed. My fathers name is Frederick Wood(s) from Luffenhall, Hertfordshire, England. Private J G Wood served such a short time but made a difference to law and order in Texas along with all other serving Texas Rangers to this living day. God bless the Texas Rangers!

Brother you founded what has become a great department. Without you and those who served for our great state we would never be. May God grant your soul peace forever with Him. To God be the glory forever! Thank you for your sacrifice. We will take it from here...

Your heroism and service is honored today as we approach the 124th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. He was shot twice when ambushed on April 23rd when he was on a foot pursuit of two bank robbers, 120 years after you were killed.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I am glad that your Captain had your back, but it is sad to know that even then some number crunchers cared more about budget than service and sacrifice.
