Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Nick P. Pham
Nick,
I am very blessed to have met you and worked with on several occasions at checkpoints hosted in the Keys. I can see you clearly smiling and laughing - and that's how you'll always be for me. It's truly another sad day this week to lose two incredible traffic officers. My heart goes out to your family and law enforcement family. I wish them peace to get through this extremely difficult time. God bless you and your family....Rest in Peace my Brother. You will never be forgotton.

May god be with you and your family during this terrible incident. What a sad day for South Floida Law Enforcement. We learned of the passing of Deputy Pham while attending the funeral of Officer Del Rio who was also killed in an on duty crash just four days prior.

Nick,
I truly enjoyed working with you and getting to know you these past four years. You were always professional in your appearance and how you conducted yourself with the public. You loved your job and it showed in your work ethic. You were always friendly and had a smile. I never heard you speak ill of anybody and nobody ever spoke ill of you. You had a great sense of humor.
Hearing of your passing, this morning, really hurt. I just saw you, at the Nascar Races, two weeks ago. Heather and I had a great time, shooting the s*&% with you and Jason, at the PK gym last month. It hurts anytime we lose an officer, but losing you hurts so much more. Nick: you were a fellow cop, a brother, a friend and somebody who we will truly miss.
Although your tour of duty is done with us here on Earth, I know that you will continue to give 'em hell up in Heaven. They say that 'only the good die young'. We who knew, admired and loved you know that you fit that bill. Take care my brother and may you ride with your fellow brethren and amongst angels up in Heaven. May God bless and look after your family down here on Earth. Know that your law enforcement family will never forget you and we appreciate your service to your fellow officers and to your community.

Nick you will be missed by all of us that knew him. He was a awesome friend with a great heart and I'm glad we crossed paths. Thank you for all the memories we shared.
"Nick's Wings"
Last Sunday God said to St. Michael:
“ I need another Deputy Angel in heaven,
and Only a very special young Deputy
from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department will do.”
So after careful consideration of the qualifications of each candidate
a decision was made;
Deputy Nick Pham,
would earn his halo and wings that day.
So Wednesday, November 26, 2008
he was called to serve
at the Lords’ right hand.
His uniform still has the golden deputys’ star on his chest
added are silver wings and a golden halo around his head
He no longer patrols the streets,
his new assignment is to watch over and protect
his friends, brother Deputies and fellow State Troopers from harm
and give them guidance whenever he can.
And even though we all miss him greatly, we must remember;
he is still near in the memories we hold in our hearts

Deputy Sheriff Nick Pham,
Our duty as a law officer places us at risk the moment we step out the door of the station. Moment by moment decisions we make create risks unknown to most of the working class. Sometimes we do not realize that just driving in traffic places us on a battlefield. While some don't see it this way and have doubt, I can only say that compared with a battlefield in war the highway "battlefield" has a death toll far greater. So for the law officer who's job it is to make the highway safe it is no less a battlefield for him or her, too. When any of us die on the battlefield we are heros if not in life then surely to our families. When a law officer dies on the highway "battlefield" he or she is a hero among heros. For to really know how dangerous the battlefield is, and to enter it anyway, makes him/her as such. To Deputy Sheriff Nick Pham, a soldier of the law, we render a final salute.
