My daughters went to high school with Officer Figueroa. It was a small charter school, and they all hung around together. He was a really good, sweet kid. I remember taking my daughter and 3 of her friends over to house on his 15th birthday. They were in the choir and went over to his house to sing an acapella version of "Happy Birthday." They then took him out to breakfast at McDonalds. My sincere condolences to his parents, siblings, wife, daughter, and coworkers. Peace and restoration to all. Heavenly Father has a new angel on the beat!

Dear Family and Department of Officer Figueroa,
It is with a broken heart that I write to you today. When I checked today's date and saw Officer Figueroa from the Phoenix Police Department listed I could hardly believe it. Like my beautiful son, they were both 25. Such an unbelievable loss for his wife and precious child and family to have to live with now. I had contacted your department a couple of weeks ago about the patch collection I am finishing that my son had started and yours was the first patch I had received. I have it in front of me now and cry for the pain your department and this family is going through. Being a police officer is such a high calling and such an honor. I wish I could do something to take away your hurt. Such a beautiful face and smile. God be with you all and grant you some peace and comfort.

Officer Shane Figueroa,
Rest in peace sir, your a hero now and forever. Patrol the streets of heaven with your other fallen brothers. I know my son wsa standing waiting to greet you at heavens doors so you could patrol together. The thin blue line just got a little thinner. May your family be blessed with the brothers you left behind to keep watch over them, as I know they will, like my son's brothers here are keeping watch over us. May God bless you and hold you in his loving arms.
With deepest respect,
