Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Richard Mark Bremer

Mark had "it" from the beginning. He was impressive during field training and didn't miss a beat; he was a great addition to C Squad and the entire department. He was friendly, funny, good natured, serious and tenacious when it mattered, and loved. We needed more Mark Bremers then, and we need more officers like him now. We all love and miss you, buddy! Rest in Peace.

Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, know that your memory is very much alive at FPD. Your brothers and sisters made sure on my very first day that I knew your story, and I will make sure future generations of officers never forget your sacrifice. Rest easy.

Mark,

Today, on the five year anniversary of your tragic death, we continue to mourn your loss here at the Frederick Police Department. We have reminders of you throughout the department and pass along your legacy to those officers who have followed you. On Friday we will be honoring you at our 54th academy graduation and will be presenting your family with a shadow box of items from your time here with the agency.

You are always in our thoughts and you will never be forgotten. Thank you for your service to our community. May you continue to rest in peace.
