Eventhough I never met Officer Tome I feel a great sense of loss. As a 23 year veteren of emergency traffic services I understand the danger that all police and emergency workers face daily. Spending many hours standing on a busy side road in the cool fall breeze it gives an entirely new perspecive on many things as I worked the incident this morning. I am sure that Officer Tome died doing what was his calling was and I hope that the emergency services community can pull together and get through these tough times.

To David's family, the men and women of Northern York County Regional PD and David's friends, may God be with you all in this very difficult time. Words can not express the sorrow and grief we all feel again at this time. David is the second officer to die in the line of duty in our area in as many months. The thin blue line will stretch even more because of this terrible and tragic loss, but it will not break.
