Sgt Douglas,
I have missed your smile and laugh for sometime. You were the best district partner anyone could ask for when I was a brand new officer 11 years ago. I was riding with Sgt Tunnel. I could always count on you to give me little hints to make my training easier. I regret never thanking you for all of that help. I thanking you now. You made quite the impression on me as a young man and new officer. I never heard you talk badly about the Department or anyone. No matter what happened. I have tried my best to do the same. You were the happiest man I've ever known. Always with a smile on you face. I trust in God that everything happens for a reason, but sometimes things are hard to understand and swallow. Your wife and son no doubt now have a special angel looking after them. I'll consider you another angel out there looking after me also. Take care brother until we meet again.
