Reflections for Trooper First Class Mickey Charles Lippy

The following is a Fallen Officer's Prayer that was found while a Pueblo Police Officer visited the N.Y.P.D. Museum & Ground Zero in 2005 Officer's Prayer

Fallen Officer’s Prayer

I Never Dreamed It Would Be Me.
My Name For All Eternity.
Recorded Here At This Hallowed Place.
Alas, My Name, No More My Face.
'In The Line of Duty' I Hear Them Say.
My Family Now The Price To Pay.
My Folded Flag Stained With Their
Tears.
We Only Had Those Few Short Years.
The Badge No Longer On My Chest.
I Sleep Now In Eternal Rest.
My Sword I Pass To Those Behind And
Pray They Keep This Thought In Mind.
I Never Dreamed It Would Be Me.
And With A Heavy Heart And Bended
Knee, I Ask For All Here From The
Past...
Dear God, Let My Name Be The Last.
We here at KWLF send our prayers and thoughts to all who knew Pilot Bunker and hope that these meeger words can help
easy some of the dark days ahesd
GOD BLESS YOU ALL

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
High Flight
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

Pilot Officer Gillespie Magee
No 412 squadron, RCAF
Killed 11 December 1941

God Bless you. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family, friends and fellow Troopers. Rest in peace.

Mickey I never saw your face but I never really had to. I must say "Thankyou..." 1.For serving and protecting citizens like myself and 2. Making the spouses, girlfriends, and family members of troopers like yourself remember how dangerous your job can be. As I watch my loved one put on that same uniform every day of his life that you did I wonder if I will be there to see him in the evening when he gets home. You have made me, as well as many others, realize how easy it is to take people, things, and situations for granted and how precious they truly are. Every moment and memory is a different one to hold onto and to keep. There may not be a tomorrow so live for today....

God Bless Your Family-

Mickey and I were friends at Calvert Hall and had a wonderful 4 years together. Mickey had a quite strength that one admired. He was a tough as nails football player, but off the field he carried himself very humbly. I always knew I could count on Mickey for help and a great laugh. He was low key and quite when you first go to know him, but once he liked and trusted you sometimes you could get him to stop talking.
I know he is a great father and is up w/ the Lord waiting to help his family.
God bless you Mickey.

I AM A WARRIOR
by Jon F. Hooper

I stand with God. I fight not for glory or fame,
For they are momentary.
I fight for those who can't.
I fight for Justice.
I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden.
And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets,
For I serve to protect the innocent.
It matters not where or when,
For evil knows no boundaries.
Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny,
I will not flee.
Justice is my weapon.
Faith is my shield.
Hope is my armor.
Cry not at my passing,
For it was my Honor to fight for you.
Shed not tears of sorrow,
But tears of joy,
For now,
I stand with God.

Trooper Lippy, I got the priviledge of working with you for the first few months I became a police officer. Working with you I could see the dedication you had to the community. After you left Westminster to join the aviation unit, we would still bump into you occasionaly, as you would respond to some of our medic calls with Gamber. The world lost a true hero on Sunday, but your deeds will never be forgotten. Thank-you for everything, and God bless you and your family.

Mickey-

You were a friend while I was in MD. You and I worked side-by-side on numerous calls, each finding our dream to fly. I am sorry that we will never get the chance to sit down and swap flight stories with each other.

May the skies be blue and the winds always calm...

Mickey, for the past few days all I have been able to think about it is the countless calls me, you, and Ed ran on the lower end. Not only were you a great Trooper and leader, but you were, and still are, a wonderful friend. The day you left for aviation, I knew you were finally doing what you loved, what you were put here to do. We will never forget you Mickey!
