I heard on the news that you were promoted to Sergeant after your death. You deserve as many honors as you can get. You gave your life so that the rest of us could be safe. I no longer work for a police department but that doesn't stop the pain. I never knew you and still I cry for you and your family.

God Speed Sergeant McDonald.

Yestorday i stood on the side of I95 as the body of Sgt. Patrick McDonald passed me by along with many many brave men and women. I could only find myself start to cry for a man whom i never even known. 30 years old, 5 years older then myself and his life taken from him from someone who never in my opinion deserved to one day outside those prison walls. I can only imagine what his family and loved ones are feeling. As i stood on the side of the road crying for a man who i never even knew i thought to myself now how can people see these men and women as bad? as monsters to our community? Sgt Patrick McDonald died doing what he loved to do. Saving the rest of us from what walks these streets. I will forever remember the man which whom i never even knew. God Bless you Sgt. May your soul rest in eternal peace.

Today I had the honor of escorting your funeral procession. Motor units as for away as Cincinnati, OH came to pay their respects for a fellow motor cop as well as thousands of other law enforcement officers. It was deeply moving and a great show of support that is much needed for the PPD. 5 Philadelphia officers killed in the line of duty in the last two years, and many others in the Philadelphia region seriously wounded by people who should have never been on the streets.

I will never forget. Your sacrifice keeping the streets safe will ALWAYS be in my heart.

Tell our fellow brothers in blue up there to look out for us down here. We'll keep their memories of heroism alive.

God Bless
