My sincerest condolences to the family, friends, co-workers, and so many others who had the fortune to know and become acquainted with this officer, unfortunately, I did not have this honor, and am now less for it.

I also would like to express my condolences to someone who was probably closer to her than we are to most, and that would be her K-9 partner who I'm afraid doesn't know what's happening.

Godspeed.

A former R6 Firefighter

Thank you for all the work you and your family did (and currently doing) for the people and wildlife of your part of the world. I have nothing but respect and sincere warmth for you, your family, and colleagues. I met you and K-9 Radar at my agency I currently work at. Please take care all who do similar work and may your family fine peace with your spirit.

Dear Officer Fairbanks,
You accepted the challenge of patrolling 300,000 acres of the Olympic National Forest acknowledging in a local paper, "without backup." Words cannot describe this kind of bravery and valor. You served with honor and distinction to protect us, the forests, and keep the community safe. My heartfelt sympathies go out to your husband and daughter, and everlasting peace to you. Thank you for your dedication and service.

There but for the grace of God go I........

Lord take the soul of our sister Officer Fairbanks into your tender loving care. There to spend eternity in your presence, singing your glory until forever.

For her family, take comfort in the fact that Kristine was doing a job she loved, because you only have two choices in this job, and Kristine decided to love what she did. I am sure you will remember the great and good things about Kristine. That is what I am sure she would want you to do.

God bless you all.
