Reflections for Officer Kristine Marie Fairbanks

Kris, I will always remember our days as LEOs and especially the time with a bunch of inebriated and armed "visitors" near Packwood. Just as I was about to get in to the thick of it, I looked around and you were gone - because you were smart enough to take cover with the 12 gauge behind a huge Douglas Fir. I will never forget that single most definable sound of you chambering a round in to the 870 followed by "get on the ground" that resulted in immediate "voluntary" compliance of all. I thought to myself, now that is one tough lady! You literally saved my butt that day and probably on many other days. I am honored to have worked with you, to know you, and to be your friend.

Sister Fairbanks,
You have done a great job in making this a safer place for us all to live and work together. Your tour has now ended and may you rest in peace.
GOD BLESS YOU - GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I couldn't believe the news when I heard it. I wish I could have known you better, but I am glad that I got to spend the time with you that I did. You may not have realized it, but you were an inspiration to my wife, and my mom still talks about the ride-along that she got to do with you during K9 training. I will especially miss seeing you at the Christmas and Halloween parties and will miss your hillarious stories and infectious laugh. I pray for you and your family, and don't worry, Radar is in good hands.
Godspeed, Sister

Some how the world stops just a little longer when it's a mother that is lost. Everyone who has a mother in Law Enforcement, take this time to stop and hug them. A mom in law enforcement is truly an amazing woman.

Officer Fairbanks Family
Your complete family are in my families prayers during this dark time. My family is just starting to make it thru a lost of our own with the death of my future son in-law Josh Norris. Kristine was taken to early and should of had more time with you guys. I know words at this time will never stop the hurt, but know your Wife and Mom is not far from you, she is the whisper in the wind, that feeling of being hugged when no one is there, she will always be at your side watching over ever accomplishment and catching ever tear that you guys shed. What has helped my family and may help yours, remember your love ones laugh, her smile and all those things that are unique to her, since they are truly what made her. She is a true hero in every sense of the word and your police family extends it arms to you, if this one from Louisiana can do anything do not hesitate to ask. God bless you and may he give you strength.
