Reflections for Sergeant Michael Christopher Weigand, Jr.
Sergeant Michael C. Wiegand, Jr.,
Each of us in law enforcement faces the day with assignments and duties filled with stress. To be able to relax with the item of our choice to assist us relieving this stress is a joy. For some of us a motorcycle is our relief valve. It is sad that a crash would take the life of Sergeant Weigand, but at least he was doing what gave him some pleasure. I respect his choice and regret this untimely tradgedy. We will remember him as a fellow soldier of the law and honor him for his service to his community and those whom he served. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. To you, sir, I render a final salute.

There is no greater example of honor. May your loved ones, friends, co-workers find peace. May the citizens realize the sacrifice made by the law enforcement officers every second of every day.
Rest in peace Sergeant Michael C. Weigand we have got it from here.............

When it rain it's pours, is a figure of speech that we normally say when things go wrong. Well, even in the midst of this rain God "reigns" over all. My heart felt sympathy goes out to this family, this department, to the Blue Knights and to the community that this officer served. You may have been riding in this physical world, but God had a much better benefit for you to lead, and it was the "benefit" to Heavens gate, and he is right now riding those streets that they say are "paved with gold".

I cannot express the pain that I feel from your loss. Although I didn't know you, I know you and your family are much like mine. My husband and I are both retired police officers and we lost our son who was a young Deputy Sheriff. Please give your parents, wife and little girl strength and guidance during this difficult time. You are their Angel. My thoughts and prayers are also with the members of the Latimore Township Police Department and the citizens of York Springs.
Thank you for your service, Sir. You've done your job well. Your brothers and sisters on the Thin Blue Line will take it from here. Watch Over them. Rest in Peace and God Speed....

Rest In Peace fellow Motorman, may your rides in heaven be smooth and level and we will listen for the roar of your bike in the thunder.
To the Family of Officer Jansen
Your complete family are in my families prayers during this dark time. My family is just starting to make it thru a lost of our own with the death of my future son in-law Josh Norris (EOW Jul 5th 2007). Michael was taken to early and should of had more time with you guys. I know words at this time will never stop the hurt, but know your Husband and Dad is not far from you, he is the whisper in the wind, that feeling of being hugged when no one is there, he will always be at your side watching over ever accomplishment and catching ever tear that you guys shed. What has helped my family and may help yours, remember your love ones laugh, his smile and all those things that are unique to him, since they are truly what made him. Your police family extends it arms to you, if this one from Louisiana can do anything do not hesitate to ask. God bless you and may he give you strength.

God Bless You
What I wish people knew about Law Enforcement, EMS, Firefighters & Dispatchers.
I wish you could know what it is like to search a burning bedroom for trapped children at 3
AM, flames rolling above your head, your palms and knees burning as you crawl, the floor sagging under
your weight as the kitchen below you burns.
I wish you could comprehend a husband's horror at 6 in the morning as I check his wife of 40 years for a
pulse and find none. I start CPR anyway, hoping to bring her back, knowing intuitively it is too late.
But wanting her husband and family to know everything possible was done to try to save her life.
I wish you knew the unique smell of burning insulation, the taste of soot-filled mucus, the
feeling of intense heat through your turnout gear, the sound of flames crackling, the eeriness of being
able to see absolutely nothing in dense smoke-sensations that I've become too familiar with.
I wish you could read my mind as I respond to a building fire "Is this a false alarm or a working
fire? How is the building constructed? What hazards await me? Is anyone trapped?"
Or to call, "What is wrong with the patient? Is it minor or life-threatening? Is the caller really in
distress or is he waiting for us with a 2x4 or a gun?"
I wish you could be in the emergency room as a doctor pronounces dead the beautiful five-year old
girl that I have been trying to save during the past 25 minutes, who will never go on her first date or
say the words, "I love you Mommy" again.
I wish you could know the frustration I feel in the cab of the engine or unit the driver with his foot
pressing down hard on the pedal, my arm tugging again and again at the air horn chain, as you fail to yield
the right-of-way at an intersection or in traffic.
When you need us however, your first comment upon our arrival will be, "It took you forever to get here!"
I wish you could know my thoughts as I help extricate a girl of teenage years from the remains
of her automobile. "What if this was my daughter, sister, my girlfriend or a friend? What is her
parent's reaction going to be when they open the door to find a police officer with hat in hand?"
I wish you could know how it feels to walk in the back door and greet my parents and family, not
having the heart to tell them that I nearly did not come back from the last call.
I wish you could know how it feels dispatching officers, firefighters and EMT's out and when we
call for them and our heart drops because no one answers back or to here a bone chilling 911 call of
a child or wife needing assistance.
I wish you could feel the hurt as people verbally, and sometimes physically, abuse us or belittle what
I do, or as they express their attitudes of "It will never happen to me."
I wish you could realize the physical, emotional and mental drain or missed meals, lost sleep and forgone
social activities, in addition to all the tragedy my eyes have seen.
I wish you could know the brotherhood and self-satisfaction of helping save a life or preserving someone's
property, or being able to be there in time of crisis, or creating order from total chaos.
I wish you could understand what it feels like to have a little boy tugging at your arm and asking,
"Is Mommy okay?" Not even being able to look in his eyes without tears from your own and not knowing
what to say. Or to have to hold back a long time friend who watches his buddy having CPR done on him
as you take him away in the Medic Unit. You know all along he did not have his seat belt on.
A sensation that I have become too familiar with.
Unless you have lived with this kind of life, you will never truly understand or appreciate who I am,
we are, or what our job really means to us...I wish you could though

Thankyou Sergeant Michael C.Weigand Jr. for the protection that you provided many motorcycle riders . We all pray that the Lord provides us with safe passage and watches over us when we ride. And as i have watched police officers on the americas 911 ride pass us blocking off exits and pushing vehicles over to the sides protecting us without a blink of a eye. Those acts of bravery and actions make you all heroes in my eyes . I pray that God will watch over your young daughter and your wife and family! Your watch on this earth is over , but i know that when we all get back on the seat of our motorcycles there is one more angel watching down on us from heaven. Thankyou so very much and may you rest in peace!
