I went to High School with Bob Blomo, and he was one of the most squared away individuals I ever had the pleasure to meet. I was his commanding officer in the California Cadet Corps, and he was my assistant. He deserved to live a long and happy life, and the fact that he died at such a young age was a travesty, and the world lost someone who stood head and shoulders above the rest.
May you rest in Peace always, Bob.

Its been 48 years since you passed. I graduated from the CHP academy on the day you left us on September 4, 1969. I was assigned to the SLA CHP office and saw several more close friends lose their lives while protecting the Citizens of California. Your mission was the highest Honor that anyone could have. You are a special breed and only a very small number of us could be one of the best as CHP motormen. The Blue and Gold is a calling that only the very best can obtain. You are the best and will always be in all our hearts. Please Rest knowing that even after 48 years you are remembered and honored. Semper Fi CHPY and God Bless you and your family.

bob was my classmate at the academy ctc VI of 66, he had the room right across from me, bob was a great guy a good friend, always had a smile on his face. I think he may have one of the first officers from my class to get a motor, something he talked about. even it has been years age I think about him every time we talked about the academy and riding motors.

This is to the daughter or other family members of Officer Blomo. I met you in 1970 when you and your Mother and siblings shared a Newport Beach Vacation home with my Son's and I for Easter week. We were all still greiving deeply after the loss of my Husband and the loss of your Father and it helped to be with others who were in the same place emotionally.
I would love to contact your Mother Kathy, it has been a long long time and I have often wondered how she is doing.
I always think of your Father as we drive past Forest Lawn. Your Mother told us that she chose his gravesite so that he could always overlook the Freeway that he had patroled.
All my best after all these years.........Kandie Shewmaker Cansler
