Reflections for Detective Michael Smith Phillips
My heart goes out to your your wife and children and your brothers and sisters in blue at the VBPD. It's a terrible tragedy to lose an officer who leaves behind not only his LEO family, but his family at home. You will not be forgotten. And your sacrifice will not be in vain. Justice will be served. Rest in peace now, your brothers and sister will take the watch now.

It's just not fair that the good go first. I was angry when I saw the news this morning that another good man had been killed. Someone who was protecting our city is killed by thugs who do not deserve to walk this Earth. My heart just breaks that you lost your life so soon. Your sacrifice will not be forgetten and my heart hurts for your wife and children...they did not deserve to have you taken away from them so soon. Please watch over your family and protect them. I pray that the men that did this are punished and never walk free again. May the Lord bless you and your family.
