Christmas is fast approaching. My favorite time of year for you. I miss buying your "unusual" gifts. You would be so proud of the boys. Bay is now firefighter and Bristol is getting ready to graduate. Your presence was definitely felt at his academy graduation and at your memorial. Your brothers in blue are truly amazing. Keep sending those pennies down. Love you now and forever.

Mike,

I was in DC this past weekend and I stopped to check on your spot at the memorial and as you probably saw, cleaned up a few leaves that had fallen around your panel. I can't believe it's coming up on ten years since you were taken from everyone. You're never forgotten, brother.

Mike--Got a request today to send business cards to a son of a fallen officer. I immediately got out your cards and will send one on. How can I not do this when so many helped your sons nine years ago. It was always the small things that meant so much. Still seems like yesterday. Always in my thoughts. Love you to the moon and back

Thinking of you yet again today Mikey! I don't know what it is, but every time I pull out this lawn mower and start mowing, I have flashbacks of you on that shitty night and I'm still yelling at you to fight! I know you did buddy! Every time I mow this lawn... Not to mention the countless other times throughout the day and week... We miss the hell out of you man. Your wife and kids are awesome! You have one the strongest families that I've ever met. I know you are proud of them. I'm sorry I don't get to see more of them and help them out more. But they are strong and rarely ask for anything. I'll keep mowing and thinking if you man. Rest in peace buddybuddy!

My prayers and condolences to Detective Phillips' family and loved ones. His EOW is on my son's birthday, so I will remember him always. My son was also law enforcement, MA2 Robby Miner, US Navy, 8/7/87 - 1/3/13. They are probably hanging out together in heaven. Rest in Peace.

Tomorrow morning I will drive up to Virginia Beach to go with our family to Murphy's. Every year on Aug. 7th, we celebrate your life. I go because there is always someone who has a story about you that I haven't heard. It makes me happy to think that there are still things to learn about you, and there are so many things I will never forget. I miss you.
