My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Officer Widman. He will truly be missed by so many, including myself. I only worked with Andrew for a short time, but the memories I have of him I will hold onto and cherish forever. It was Officers like Andrew who made my decision to leave FMPD very hard, and make me miss it everyday. Andrew is the true definition of a great officer who fullfilled the oath in everyway.

Andrew,
I know that you will look over your sisters and brothers at FMPD, just like they will look over your family. You rest asure that your wife and kids will always be in the hearts and on the minds of all that you touched during your time here. Rest in peace Andrew.

To the ENTIRE WIDMAN family,

It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of Officer Widman! This area's GREAT loss is Heaven's great gain! ------I know he will be missed tremendously! My heart goes out to his wife and 3 small children! Please know are in our prayers! He is in a wonderful place.......HEAVEN!

Remember the joyous words of our Lord, "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." (2 Corinthians 5:8)

God is not unaware of our grief, but in HIS perfect plan(even though we can't understand it) He is welcoming home his faithful servant. The Bible says, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." (Psalm 116:15)

** A HEAVENLY REUNION **
For everyone who has trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation, there is a brighter day ahead when we will be reunited FOREVER in a place where “God will wipe away every tear from [our] eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying” (Revelation 21:4). Most of all, it is a place where we will “see His face” and forever be with Christ Himself (22:4).

HERO'S LIVE FOREVER!!!! ANDREW WIDMAN IS A TRUE AMERICAN HERO HERE IN FT MYERS and the surrounding area I truly hope our Foundation (TheLegacyOfFaithFoundation.org) could serve this officer's family in the near future! May God bless the entire widman family and the entire Law enforcement communtiy during this difficult time. Gone, but never forgotten! It's been so wonderful to see this community come together and donate "a love offering" to this family. Our mission as a community isn't finished .....JAMES 1:27 tells us we must ALWAYS "look after widows and orphans in their distress". This family needs us now and for many years to come! My prayer is that these children will grow into something wonderful someday! May GOD bless the entire law enforcement & military community for the daily sacrafice of putting your
lives on the line.

IN MEMORY OF MICK BERNARD (Lee County Port Authority #8904)

Officer Widman
Rest in Peace Brother and tell my Son-in law Josh Norris EOW 07/05/2007 hello and have him show you around. My prayers are with your family during this dark time, but you will have your day, a day that you richly deserve, too many police cars to count, with lights blazing and sirens screaming escorting you. Hundreds of your brothers will stand at attention saluting you and the citizens of your community will shed tears. A 21 gun salute will sound out in respect for you and heart numbing Taps" will be played for you while your family receives a flag. There will not be a dry eye left from both your family and police family near and far. Saint Michael the chief of police in heaven will greet you at the pearly gates and welcome you to Saint Peter's district. You will never be forgotten and your strength and courage will live on to inspire every new deputy that takes up the call of the profession and your sacrifies will be remmebered through out the nation with every police officer. You got the call, you gave your all, and it was more than enough. So prop your feet up and take a load off up there and keep an ear to the radio so that when another of our brother's number is called you can meet them at the gate with a cup of coffee and a smile. Oh and put in a good word for me up there, I like the day watch and make sure my boy Josh is not sleeping the time way.

To the Family of Widman
Your complete family are in my families prayers during this dark time. My family is just starting to make it thru a lost of our own with the death of my future son in-law Josh Norris. Andrew was taken to early and should of have had more time with you guys. I know words at this time will never stop the hurt, but know your Husband and Dad is not far from you, he is the whisper in the wind, that feeling of being hugged when no one is there, he will always be at your side watching over ever accomplishment and catching ever tear that you guys shed. What has helped my family and may help yours, remember your love ones laugh, his smile and all those things that are unique to him, since they are truly what made him. He is a true hero in every sense of the word and your police family extends it arms to you, if this one from Louisiana can do anything do not hesitate to ask. God bless you and may he give you strength.

To Ft Myers Police Department
My brothers and sisters this lost will always be felt at roll call, on the road or just talking at a break. For those that were on the scene, do not start second guessing your action, understand that nothing you did or things you felt you should have done would have changed this out come, the fault is with the coward that made the decision to take Andrew's life. Like all of us that wear a badge, we do not do it for the fortune we never make, the glory that never comes, but go forward regardless of the risk for the love of fellow officers that we work beside us. Mourn your brother, but also dedicate your service in his name by being the best you possible can. Your Department are in my families prayers also. Hug your family and kiss their heads, they will need comfort also to calm their fears.

Susanna, children, family members and close friends:
I am praying for you all during this time. Andy was a mentor and example to many who knew him at TFC and I'm sure throughout the remainder of his life. His life challenged me and others to live as Christ. He demonstrated compassion, love, service, and gentleness, and his love for the lost was evident not only in word, but also in deed. I was honored to know him and look forward to the day when we will see him again in Paradise.
