On today's date 5 years ago a hero was taken from us all. Andy Widman was a great person, a great cop, a perfect husband and a loving father.
He walked closely with God and was a representation of how we all should live.
Andy was taken from us all too soon. We all miss him dearly. I think about him, and the family he left behind quite frequently.
Andy's life was taken as he bore clothing that a lot of people hate. He had a shield pinned on his chest that represents good prevailing over evil. Most importantly, he died doing God's work here on earth.
Andy, we will be eternally grateful for your service. You will ALWAYS be remembered. Your sacrifice was not in vain. I know you are watching over us all. Rest in peace my brother.

RIP Andrew. Your are never forgotten. As a new Law enforcement officer in the FT. Myers area I often walk by the spot in downtown where your life was taken. I sit and reflect on how brave and noble you were as you carried out your duties. I will think of you every time I go on a call, traffic stop, as your are my example and influence that reminds me of how dangerous the job is. I wish I could have met you. I would surely thankyou for influencing me as a person to understand and remember that we are the front line of defense between Evil and Good. I say a prayer for you and your family as I reflect on your legacy. You are a hero and will never be forgotten Sir!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the second anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
I pray for solace for all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

Andy,
Just writing to say hey. I know your looking down on all of us, and I can feel it. I can't say it enough that Susanna is one strong woman, and the kids are great. Tina and I miss you. I can't wait till Andy is old enough for me to explain to him why he carries your name.
