GREG, JUST THINKING OF YOU AS ALWAYS. I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO MUCH, NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE THE PAIN I LIVE WITH EVERYDAY! I'M SO THANKFUL FOR THE TIME/MEMORIES WE HAD TOGETHER. I WILL ALWAYS HOLD THAT CLOSE TO MY HEART. I WISH YOU COULD JUST PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL ME, I NEED TO HEAR YOUR VOICE, I ASKED GOD TO GIVE ME A DREAM ABOUT YOU AND HE ANSWERED MY PRAYER! I LOVE YOU SWEETHEART! YOU WILL ALWAYS BE "LO'S BUDDY"

Greg,

My youngest son and I went to Pell City PD yesterday and met Corporal Watson. What an awesome inspiration you were and still are to your community and the officers you worked with.

It is my privilege to ride in the Police Unity Tour in your honor this year.

May God continue to bless and comfort your family, the community you served and your fellow officers of Pell City.

All my prayers

Greg,

It was about a year ago I remember you sitting in the TASER recertification class at PCPD. It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since you began watching over us from Heaven.

I still keep your wife, your daughters, and your fellow officers in my prayers.

I am still at a loss for words.

God bless you and all who mourn you. May God give them the strength to carry on. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To his little girls: I know that you aren't old enough to read this now, but I want you to know that your daddy was and is a hero. He will never be forgotten, and he loves you now and always.

THIS IS OF YOU~MY 828 IN BLUE

Forever & always will be my love for you
My hero, my best friend, my man in blue.
So young & so handsome it was hard to bare
As he strapped on his vest & other police wear.

His days always began with a "10-41",
The same routine for six years he had done.
Day in and Day out he gave it his best
Never knowing if it would be the last to wear his vest.

Always so strong and courageous patrolling the streets-
and ready to help on someone else's beat.
This was not a job, it was a dream
Just to be a part of a good police force team.

To stand guard, serve and protect-
Out of honor, duty, justice and respect.
A great husband, father, cop and friend,
I do not know why it all had to end.

Why did he have to leave us so soon?
I had just talked to him that afternoon.
We were laughing and carrying on had I only known
How the afternoon would end all wrong.

I got the call and I was on my way,
I’ll never forget seeing him that day.
It ripped my heart to see him like that
I just did not want to face the fact.

Watching "4846" land so that he could be flown-
I was praying upon UAB arrival that he would not be gone.
On my way to him from the scene
I prayed the whole way that it was just a dream.

Sitting in "hell" for 16 days
I would have never left him-there was no way.
But now I am left with just his memory
For he has made it home safe and pain free.

I always knew it could happen one day
That if the Lord should decide for his job, he must pay.
But to pay with his life-is that really fair?
I wish the jerk knew, the depth of my despair.

And of my GIRLS, family and friends.
Does he not know that our pain never ends?
I sit and I wonder if for his stupidness-he really cares
That the father of my girls can not be there.

He was laid to rest with Honors
In ways that we shall never forget
With many standing amazed
Showing the utmost love and respect.

He had lived such a wonderful life, yet
much more for him to do-
But on July 4th, my wonderful "828"
gained his wings and made his Final "10-42."

Everyday I get up to another dawn
trying to find the answer of why it went wrong.
My thoughts and love for him will always remain-
but as of that day my life will never be the same.
