To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me and he said,'I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.'
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human they are bound to bring tears.
But do not be afraid to cry: it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you would not understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one step at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you to;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low:
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.
I will always be with you!
Another Officer struck down for no good reason. Another life taken because some people do not have the respect or values for anothers precious life.

Another one of the good guys struck down by cowards. Another true hero that served valiantly.
Another tragedy dealt to Maryland and an innocent family.
YOU will never be forgotten, Cpl. Findley.

There are no words that will ever describe the loss of a devoted father, husband ,son ,brother , police officer, firefighter and to all that knew him a friend. In a world where so many now look as a career in public safety as a job and nothing more Rich was the exception. Rich loved being a police officer and firefighter. He was a man who truly wanted to serve the community in which he grew up and took a great deal of pride in doing so. All those who know Rich knew him a true professional and a good and fair man who was devoted to his family. May God bless you Rich and we will always keep your family in our prayers.
To Kelly and the girls, Know that Rich and your father was the best of the best he was a hero. He will always be missed and respected by all. All of us who had the honor to know him will always remember how special of a man he was. Know that your extended family from the Police and Fire Department will be there for you and Rich will not be forgotten. Our prayers are with you and may God bless.

I worked with you in 2001 on Squad 29, and ironically Steve Gaughan was our squad mate. You were a sincere genuine person, and not to mention a great police officer. I'm glad that I had an opportunity to run into you at court just last week, and have a nice chat. I hope and pray that your wife and two daughters will make it through this tough time. You will be greatly missed. Thank you for your service.

I never had the honor to meet or work with Cpl. Findley, but the more things I hear about him it makes me wish that I had. It really breaks my heart to know that he had two young girls at home and that he will not be there to watch them grow up. Many officers at their halfway point in their careers often take a step-back and relax a little. It’s very motivating to know that Cpl. Findley who was also at his halfway point in his career did not do that, instead he was a part of a Special Assignment Team (S.A.T) and was attempting to stop a felon in a stolen car. Cpl. Findley was not only a police officer but a firefighter as well for nearly 20years. People like Cpl. Findley are rare and truly irreplaceable…
Cpl. Findley may you rest in peace; you have served your time in hell, and have truly earned your place in heaven.

It continues, with no end in sight. Another Officer, Husband, Father and friend lost due to EVIL, EVIL that had a choice, EVIL that made the choice to committ Murder over a CAR. Another Officer trying to do what is right, trying to protect his citizens, his country. Another brave Officer dealing with EVIL that most likely the system somewhere in America had in its grasp but due to their lawyers and maybe a "Plea" let go. CPL Findley Sir i Pray that your Killers are captured and that no other Officer has to loose his or her life before they are. May they pay the ultimate punishment for their crime. The State of Maryland, Prince George county and a greatful nation will be forever in your debt. May the Lord somehow comfort your family and co-workers during this time.
