Reflections for Sheriff William Read McMullen

What a lovely discovery. You are the 5th time great grandfather of my daughter-in-law. She has been torn emotionally by the calls against police officers of late. Unable to reconcile the news and dreadful happenings. Drawn into the outrage. It's like finding your story from Ancestry was bringing me a light to illuminate a little of the shadow she finds herself in. I don't yet know what she has made of your story or her relationship to an officer of the law that was murdered, But I believe It was fate that I should stumble across your story now. God bless and rest easy - you are not forgotten. Hope there's a photo of you out there somewhere. But we will honor your memory on our family wall regardless.

Rest in Peace Sheriff William Reed McMullen. Thank You for your brave Service and Sacrifice protecting the citizens of Angelina County, Texas during such a troubling time.

I Pray for Peace for your ancestors and the men and women who now serve Angelina County. I also Pray that while your murderers escaped punishment here on this earthly realm that the hounds of hell are now gnawing on their sorry bones. May nothing but thorn bushes and weed grow on their graves. May their sorry souls be consumed by the lake of fire.

Amwn.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the one hundred and forty-third anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Thank you, sir, for being courageous and dedicated to the people of Texas. You are a true hero -- lawmen in your day had to "go-it-alone" many times but they went anyway!
