I've never had the honor of meeting Jose but I'm deeply hurt and sadden by his tragedy. I feel this way every time a fellow brother/sister gets hurt or looses his/her life. My sincere condolences go to Jose's family and friends. May the The Lord comfort you in this hour of grief and sorrow. I will keep you in my prayers.

This young man died a hero. He dedicated his life to serving his country in the military, and in law enforcement. This could have happened to anyone of us as corrcetional officers, and should really open our eyes to the realities of our chosen profession. Rivera you are a true american hero. My prayers go out to Rivera's family and loved ones. You will always be remembered.

May you rest in peace and may God grant peace to your family and coworkers. I never met you Jose, but even as a young Officer, so new to the Bureau, you have walked one of the toughest beats in the Country. Not many realize that brave people like you are called to walk among the most violent criminals on a daily basis with only your wits to protect you. It was a cowardly and evil act that took you from the world and from your family. I pray that the Justice system will see to a very quick and final resolution to this crime.
