Reflections for Trooper David Shawn Blanton, Jr.
"This is my shield.
I bear it before me into battle,
but it is not mine alone.
It protects my brother on my left.
It protects my city.
I will never let my brother
out of its shadow
nor my city out of its shelter.
I will die with my
shield before me
facing the enemy.
"Gates of Fire By Stephen Pressfield
You have fought the battle well brother, rest in peace now as we will carry on the fight and care for your loved ones until you are together again.

No words I could ever say would even ease a bit of pain for the wife and small baby left behind. Always remember your Husband and Daddy did a job most are scared to do and the rest wouldn't know how. He was an American Hero that is now safe from everything and will never be hurt again. You will be together once again and all of this pain will be forgotten. I am truly sorry.
