Reflections for Trooper David Shawn Blanton, Jr.
As we pass by the exit on the way to Waynesville our prayers go out to the family. It is so sad when someone in law enforcement doesn't make it home. All that wear the uniforms are sadden when we loose a fellow officer. We will keep his wife and young son in our prayers for a long time.

Trooper Blanton, I saw your picture and started crying - so young and so full of life. A son that will never know you, but will always have a hero for a father. A young widow who will only wonder what could have been. An American tragedy. God Bless you and God's strength I pray for your family. Be strong.

Fear Not Friends David is Now Home,
I Have Summoned Him To My Throne.
For Your Emptiness On Earth Is Puzzling,
May His Presence Here In Heaven Be Comforting.
His Earthly Journey and Worries Were Put To Rest.
The Ultimate Sacrifice Was His Last Test.
Now Donning Wings To Spread and Soar
and Be An Angel For So Many More.
Greive Shortly Of His Bodily Loss,
But Know He Is Here With Me,
With Wings From The Cross.

Dear Mrs. Blanton, their families, fellow and wonderful troopers for all of your losses in one so very young.
We appreciate our troopers for keeping us safe. My father was an officer for many years and I can recall, even now at 62, my Mother waiting for the door to open at night when he got home. We were all fortunate that it did.
We will keep you in our prayers for your you, your families and young son, that God will keep him healthy and strong for you to love and guide thrugh life.
Very Sincerely and may God bless you all,

My prayers go out to the family of Trooper Blanton. We often wonder why God takes some while leaving others behind. It is sad that one of our brothers left us at such a young age. He will always be remembered by the brotherhood as one who gave all. May God bless his family. Bobby Freeman

TO A FALLEN OFFICER
We knew this person
as loved one and friend,
giving service;
walking tall until the end.
Honor their memory
with sweet tender thoughts,
and keep a warm place
for them in your hearts.
Our brothers and sisters
laid to rest,
in hallowed ground
who gave their best.
To the God of Love
this fallen- yet rising star,
receive into thy kingdom
yonder afar.
A crown of jewels
they fought the good fight,
giving their life
every day and night
Do you hear the voice
a beautiful sight,
an angel beckoning
go to the light…
Trooper Blanton will always be remembered.

As I watched my husband put on his uniform tonight, I thought about how Trooper Blanton's wife would miss those little things. I hope that she, baby Tye and the rest of the Blanton family will find strength in God, each other and the law enforcement community. I pray each night that Tye will be home from the hospital soon, that the family will find comfort, and that other law enforcement families are spared this grief.

Trooper Blanton,
You are a hero sir. May you rest in peace. You leave behind a child that will always know his father was a 'good guy' that gave his life to protect those who are unable to do so themselves. My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family. May your son follow in your foot steps and make an impact on those around him as I am sure you have.
Respectfully,
A fellow Peace Officer.

State Troopers Prayer
Lord, I ask you to be with me in a very special way as I face the challenges that come my way each day...
Please give to me compassion for the innocent I see...
Help me to protect and serve those who depend on me. When duty calls to danger, I will rely on you to give me strength and courage and help to make it through. And when my shift is over thankful I will be...
That you have been the unseen guest walking next to me. Amen.
You will be missed by your Patrol family. Prayers go out to Michela and Tye from my family. May you rest in Peace.
