My neighbor ... a true friend. Always a ready smile, a wave and at time would just stop by to ask how we were doing. Welcomed us to this neighborhood when we were moving in. I feel like we've lost a member of our family. For all you wearing the uniform and badge, just remember, we who are no longer in uniform grieve with you and with his beautiful family. Our love goes out to him and his family.

A Part Of America Died,

Somebody killed a policeman today,
And part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
And spend many long lonely nights.
The beat he walked was a battle field too
just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
In your town or mine,
While we slept in comfort behind locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And stands at each new rookies' side.
He answered the call,of himself and gave his all,
And a part of America died.

What a tragedy to lose another officer by someone who has no respect for life. A person that hasn't any value for life and will kill a police officer will shoot and kill anyone.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this dark time of anyone's life.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL-BECAUSE YOU ARE HEROES.

In the simple performance of duty,

he pinned on a badge,

checked his gear with a practiced eye,

and kissed his loved ones good-bye.

In the simple performance of duty,

he reported for work,

joked with his buddies at roll call,

and made his last trip down the squadroom hall.

In the simple performance of duty,

he answered the call

to help the helpless, to find the lost,

no matter the danger or how great the cost.

In the simple performance of duty,

he lay down his life,

for those in peril he tried to save,

our brave friend went to his grave.

In the simple performance of duty,

we honor his deed,

as we carry him to rest in a flag-draped casket,

long after the world has forgotten, we shall never forget.

Never judge or regret, what he did, In the simple performance of duty.

God Speed My Brother, We will take it from her.....

Erik, I just spoke to you just the other day, and now you are gone. I remember you were making me laugh and had I known it would be our last laugh together I guess I would have made it last a little longer. I am hurting so badly right now, I cant even imagine the hurt your family feels. This is going to be my first day back to work, and I dont even know how I am going to get through the day without breaking down. For some reason my badge looks so diffrent now. I guess with prayer and thoughts of you I will manage. I will take your memory with me as I check 10-8 today. You were a great friend to me and I will never forget you. God speed my friend, until we meet again.

Words are extremely difficult to find in expressing feelings of this magnitude. Officer Hite was a prime example of what honor, dedication, and the word hero mean. In his act to preserve life among the citizens of Tucson, he made the biggest sacrifice. He will be remembered and his honor upheld among Officers, Deputies, and citizens across the nation. When you reflect upon the person he was, do not think of how he died. Reflect upon the accomplishments he made and the lives he saved.
