Sarge,

Although we never met I am deeply saddened at the thought of yet another brother being taken away from his family way to soon. I am disappointed that I could not attend your funeral Friay morning but am glad your brothers caught the final scumbag in time for it. I had family in the Southwest for years and I travel through the 24th quite frequently going to St. Christophers C.H. I will think of you and your family whenever I pass through from now on.

Mine and my family's thoughts and prayers are with you and your family especially as I sit and watch the Flyers tonight as they pay tribute to you. Your son's post on here and his words last Friday would make you quite proud. "Lets Go Flyers". Rest in peace brother for you are a true hero and will never be forgotten.

Sgt. Liczbinski, you gave your all for the citizens of Philadelphia. I only had the pleasure of visiting your city once and that was to visit with a member you the Housing Police. He has always spoken well of his City counterparts and you sir, are one of those who went above and beyond. You have my utmost respect.

I know all the reflections left on this site will never bring you back to your wife and three children and I know they are going through a horrific pain right now, but I hope that somehow, as time passes, some of the words left here, most especially by those who had the honor of working by your side, are of some comfort.

You have my respect and your family has my prayers.

God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.

I did not write this, but feel it is appropriate for all my fallen Brother.......
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.He hoped his shoes were shining.Just as brightly as his brass."Step forward now, Policeman. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To my Church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,"No, Lord I guess I ain't,because those of us who carry badges
Can't always be a Saint. I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my work was rough, and sometimes I've been violent, Because the streets are awfully tough. But I never took a penny, that wasn't mine to keep,I worked a lot of overtime when the bills just got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place among the people here.
They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,it needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,But if you don't, I'll understand."

There was silence all around the Throne where the Saints had often trod. As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, policeman, you've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,You've done your time in Hell."

I didn't know you but I know a number of your fellow officers who could have gotten that call as you did that fateful day. I wish God didn't quite feel you had done all He had asked of you and were being brought to your reward just yet. You were/are a brave hero---that will be what your wife, kids, and family will always know. I wish they could just still have you instead. My deepest sympathy to you all in the Liczbinski immediate and extende family.

My condolences to the family of Sergeant Liczbinski. It is with great sadness to hear about Sargeant Stephen Liczbinski murder, but in all this tragedy we can rest because Sergeant Liczbinski died doing what he loved and the cowards that took his life were captured by the other heroes of the Philadelphia Police Department. The citizens of Philadelphia should be proud of the man and woman who wear the blue uniform everyday putting their lives on the line to serve and protect the citizens and visitors of that great city. Rest in peace Brother. from BPD A-7

It is hard to put to words the sorrow I personally feel for the family of Sergeant Stephen Liczbinski. My most sincere heart felt sorrow to his Mother, Father, wife and children; be it known that Stephen will rest in the Kingdom Of Our Lord. His life on earth should be always be remembered with joy and elation. To his brothers in blue, don't be sad, but instead ackownledge that old Sergeant Liczbinski did not turn the other way when he encountered danger, but instead he faced the danger we all are expected to face everyday we put on our respective uniforms. Sergeant Liczbinski did what he knew he had to do, and he paid the biggest price of all. I know it might sound better to look the other way, but to true believers of Law Enforcement it is not an option. We are compelled to face danger, even if it means giving up our life; I'm sorry to say, but I do not believe for a second that Sergeant Stephen Liczbinski would have had it any other way. My God watch over Stephen's family and protect them from those among us that would cause them harm. My God please show his wife the Love Stephen has for her, and may she learn to truly live life and love others as well as love herself.

My deepest condolences to your family. I couldn't imagine my wife and daughter having to live without me. No one really knows about this job unless you are on it and it is ashame it takes a tragedy like this for people to finally acknowledge us and the service we do everyday without any regard for our lives. Your are a hero.
