To the family of Trooper Burns: I still grieve the loss of my father a law enforcement officer of 41+ years, and one of my twin cousins who died in the line of duty on motorcycle patrol at age 34. It feels that my protection here on earth is gone. We have to look to The Lord Jesus Christ, Who appointed all enforcement officers in the book of Romans. My sincere sympathies. Cynthia

Scott---

It is with a heavy heart that I write this. I just cannot put into words exactly what it is that I am wanting to say. I know there is a reason for everything, and we are never supposed to question the works of the Almighty Father, as He has a plan for each of us, but I still find myself asking, "Why?" I did not know you, but you were part of me. We are the Texas Highway Patrol, and have bled the same blood.....shed the same tears.

My family & I said a prayer for you and your family, and I pray you heard us.

We truly thank you for your Service, Sir, and you will NEVER be forgotten. Sleep easy in God's arms, Scott. We will take it from here for you, and do the best we possibly can.

Remember Them
If you are able,
save for them a place
inside of you
and save one backward glance
when you are leaving
for the places they can
no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say
you loved them,
though you may
or may not have always.
Take what they have have left
and what they have taught you
with their dying
and keep it with your own.
