George Dill was my great great grandfathers brother. Our family has continued its service in Buffalo Police Department and other agencies. The badge is in our DNA

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 147th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
It seems inconceivable to a modern day reader to learn that officers were not allowed to carry firearms, especially when it is obvious the criminals had them.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.

Officer Dill,
It has taken over 143 years, but you are finally being honored. I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Buffalo. It took another year, but your murderer finally got the justice that he deserved.
