Cyndi and boys, I cannot express to you how much Jim meant to me and this department. He was always pleasant and smiling.I recall what his brother said at the memorial service "Jimmy always had that certain smile (smirk) on his face as though he knew something that I didn't,"
well, I think about that smile he was refering to, cause I've seen it too. Jim would still be here doing paper work and as I would enter the building he'd look up with that smile and give me the most welcome greeting. How I miss that! I miss him standing at my door waiting, patiently for me to unload my stuff, then ask me for something he needed, always with that 'knowing something' smile. I look forward to seeing that smile again, at the gate of heaven, cause I know that's where Jim is patroling now.
This department is so blessed for knowing Jim, even for such a short time. God bless you Cyndi, Travis and Austin, and Thank you Jim! RIP

Jim, it was an honor to have worked with you. You were one of those rare officers that are in high demand by departments nation wide. You came to work prepared for duty, with a smile and a great attitude, completing any assignment with professionalism and compassion for others. Even though you were only with us for a short time, you were easliy one of the most respected officers in the department. More importantly, you were a good man. We will miss you here but we know that God needs good police officers to patrol his streets. Do not worry about your family. They are our family and we will be here for them. Rest In Peace Brother.

Jim I was torn today by the news of your passing. I with Dennis Bubla were together with you at the 37 SFS. I remember how you carried yourself, so confident in your abilities and with a smile. If I needed an answer you had it. If I needed help you had it. If I needed an ear you had it. We will mourn and know you gave everthing to God, Country, Family and to the Millbrook Police Department. Thank you Jim for gracing our lives. You will never be forgotten

Rest my Brother, we will take watch. Post.

To Jim's family and colleagues: Jim worked for me in the US Air Force at Lackland AFB, Texas at the 37th Security Forces Squadron. I can agree with many of his friends, colleagues and fellow officers when they describe his dedication to duty, friendliness, and committment. This is exactly how I observed Jim on a daily basis. Besides being a police officer in the Air Force, Jim and I were also from the very same distinct area in Wisconsin. We always had so much to talk about and share. He spoke lovingly about his parents and family, often bringing little trinkets from Wisconsin on his return trips there. While at Lackland, he was the only one to figure out the programming of computer systems for the vehicle registration database-even training me. Later we worked in the Reports and Analysis Department. Really a hard worker... working many late nights and mounds of reports later, we passed many of higher headquarters inspections. I came to depend on him for almost every duty and even advice. To his family and friends, our prayers are with you, and may your hearts never forget Jim-a good man, father and most important, a public servant. Dennis in San Antonio, TX

In the time we worked with you, brother, you left a life long impression. People of your generosity, character and integrity are nearly non-existant these days. We will honor you, and the sacrifice of your family, by doing our jobs to the best of our abilities knowing your looking down on us with your new 3rd shift brothers and sisters in heaven.

Jim it is hard to sit here and write this. I enjoyed my time here with you. As one of your supervisors I can truly say it was a blessing to work with you. You had that special something that we all look for in an officer. The willingness to do anything you are asked without any questions. The smile that you always displayed no matter what the situation. You have left so many memories with me that there is not enough time or paper to write them all down. I hope you rest in peace and as you patrol the streets of Heaven. May god be with you always. As the shift starts to heal there will always be a void there that can never be filled. I will miss the calls from you saying SARGE I FOUND ONE YOU MISSED. Rest assured your fellow officers and friends will do what ever we need to do to be sure you family is taken care of.
REST IN PEACE BROTHER!
