Officer Owens,

May your journey into the precious hands of our Lord and Savior be swift and sweet. To your lovely wife and children, may you know peace beyond even your understanding through this your greatest hour. Know that there are many who join you in sorrow and lift you before the Lord to be carried through.

We mourn his life with you. We remember his life with you. We miss him with you and we even from around the world are here to comfort you.

The Lord knows your pain and He is there with you to comfort you.

My heart and blessings go out to each of you. May the love of the Lord be your strength and comfort.

God Bless.

Derek,
When I got the phone call on Friday and was told you were shot, my heart just sank. I couln't believe it happened again so soon after A.J. I was told you were in surgery and had a 50-50 chance. I wish I could have seen you again. Heard one of your jokes or just stood around shooting the sh*t. This was your time my friend, you are a HERO and GOD must have needed you more than us. You will be missed, and it was a great honor knowing and working with you. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY.

How heart-breaking to learn of the loss of Officer Owens at the hands of miscreants who can now add murder to their long list of crimes.

Derek,

Words cannot express the sadness this community feels. Gone is a Hero who stood up and told the world "I will fight for the weak and for those who cannot fight for themselves, I will stand for justice and righteousness."

You are a true Hero and will NEVER be forgotten.

God Bless your family and friends.
